Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

What is VITA?
VITA or Volunteer Income Tax Assistance is a program that provides free tax preparation to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:
- People who generally make $67,000 or less
- Persons with disabilities; and
- Limited English-speaking taxpayers
Expert volunteers will help you file your state and federal income taxes, all while making sure you get the most out of your return.
VITA Site
VITA begins on January 20, 2025 through April 15, 2025. Preparers will assist with income tax preparation.

- Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at Pathways Community Center, 546 South Cherry Rd Suite L Rock Hill, SC 29732.
- Every Saturday from February 1 through April 5 from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm at Winthrop University DiGiorigo Student Center, 2020 Alumni Dr, Rock Hill, SC 29733. Please note, our Winthrop Site will be closed March 15th and March 22nd, 2024.
- We have also partnered with H&R Block for households with a simple return to file their state and federal taxes online for free.
